Job Title: MedSurg/Tele RN Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS Description: This position is for a MedSurg/Tele RN in a nursing unit. The unit has a maximum of 10 beds with an average daily census of 8 patients. Patients may present with conditions such as chest pain, syncope, and angina. The RN will be responsible for cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, and chest tube management. Additional responsibilities include managing drains and tubes, as well as medication administration for cardiac drips and IV fluids. The RN will work with a supportive team, which includes supervisors and charge nurses. A resource RN will assist with admissions and discharges. Phlebotomy services will be a collaborative effort within the nursing staff. Technologies utilized in this role include an electronic medical record system and IV pumps. The RN may be required to float to other facilities as needed, within the scope of practice. There is an expectation for weekend rotation and holiday work. The department fosters a great team environment with community-building activities.
