Join our dynamic team as a Cleaner I, based in Chesapeake, working full-time during the day shift! Time: 5:30 am - 1 pm M-F

Pay. 14.85 per HR

Duties

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to ensure floors and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and polished.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Conduct sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to uphold health standards.
• Assist with custodial responsibilities like window washing, light maintenance, and minor repairs as needed.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during heavy lifting or manual handling activities to prevent injuries.
• Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and chemical sprayers is advantageous.
• Experience with facilities maintenance or general upkeep tasks enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
• Knowledge of safe lifting practices and chemical handling safety procedures ensures a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
• Strong customer service skills help foster positive interactions with staff and visitors while maintaining professional standards.
• Previous porter or maintenance experience can be beneficial but is not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is key!
