Comptroller - Web Developer

Job Responsibilities Develop, update, and maintain static and dynamic web pages for Comptroller websites and online applications using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, APIs and other object‑oriented programming languages. Coordinate file deployment to agency web servers with web team members and other agency personnel. Ensure web pages meet Section 508 accessibility standards. Develop innovative web solutions that meet agency and user needs with respect to usability, functionality and performance. Coordinate coding, debugging and testing of web content integration and the preparation of content and data. Assist in preparing detailed analyses, plans, diagrams and verification procedures for existing and proposed applications. Use coding structure that follows agency and division guidelines, including appropriate coding techniques and agency‑approved AI resources. Maintain division systems and program document files, prepare reports, provide status information and respond to requests. Provide responsive support to internal customers by assisting with web page and site updates and serve as a point of contact for questions from both internal and external customers. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree. Minimum four (4) years of experience in front‑end web development and management of complex websites utilizing PHP and JavaScript, and/or other programming languages. Understanding of responsive web design and best user experience practices. Knowledge of creating websites accessible across different browsers (sample work required). Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, content management systems, object‑oriented programming, and version control tools such as Git is preferred. Professional Knowledge and Skills Advanced JavaScript, PHP, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, CMS, and current website technology. Presentation and automation of online web content and data. Use of Dreamweaver, BBEdit or similar web editing software. MySQL database solutions and web version control experience. Responsive web design techniques and applications. Federal Section 508 accessibility standards and web‑usability concepts. Design standards for aesthetic and state agency policies. Knowledge of the Comptroller Office main functions. Utilizing approved AI coding tools, integrating APIs, and working on a MacBook Pro for high‑level web development work. Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
