Responsibilities:

• Responsible for weekly union payroll processing for approximately 27 employees, including collecting, entering, reviewing, and maintaining payroll data using ADP Workforce Now.
• Process and audit payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations. Respond to and resolve payroll-related questions and issues.
• Prepare and process unemployment claims, workers’ compensation claims, NYS Paid Family Leave (PFL), and other related employee matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and New York State employment laws and regulations.
• Provide general human resources support, including new hire onboarding, employee communications, and benefit enrollment.
• Process and maintain workers’ compensation claim information, including OSHA recordkeeping, safety training records, and required reporting.
• Conduct new hire safety orientations and recurring manufacturing safety training.
• Assist with general accounting activities and other administrative duties as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of payroll procedures and experience with ADP Workforce Now and Time & Attendance software preferred.
• Must have at least 2 years of payroll experience with direct responsibility for payroll processing and reporting.
• Working knowledge of general office procedures and administrative practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately perform tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information with discretion.
• Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
