Sr Accountant

DEPARTMENT: ACCOUNTING - FINANCESTATUS: Full-timeREPORTS TO: Corporate ControllerLOCATION: Corporate Headquarters Richmond, VA – On-siteShamin Hotels is an award-winning developer and Virginia’s largest hotel owner, which owns and operates over 75 hotels and has another 15 under various stages of development. With that growth we are seeking a dynamic leader who can join our team as a Tax Accountant.Job description:Support and maintain full-cycle accounting tasks, including journal entries, month-end close processes, and general ledger maintenance.Oversee all rental properties leases/billings/collections/rent rolls and related financials.Provide accounting support for property management and property accounts receivable.Assist with business licenses, personal property tax filingsMake mortgage payments for all the hotels and reconcile monthly mortgage related g/l accounts such as the FFE reserve, tax escrow, and insurance escrow.Collect and submit necessary supporting documents to banks for disbursement of funds in FFE reserve.On quarterly basis, accrue costs paid by “Shamin Renovations” for each hotel, in respective hotel fixed asset accounts.Aid with bank account reconciliationsAid in fixed asset accountingIdentify opportunities for process improvement in accounting tasks; work with Controller to implement these improvementsAd-hoc reporting as requestedEducation & Experience:Four-year undergraduate degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Economics, or Business Administration or equivalent work experienceStrong financial knowledge required.Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and possess basic mathematical skillsReading, Writing, Basic MathSuperior Microsoft Office Suite & G-Suite SkillsComputer skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Shamin Hotels Master
