QA/QC Construction Inspector (Roofing Expertise Preferred)

Position Overview

We’re looking for a QA/QC Construction Inspector to provide onsite inspections, monitor construction quality, and support compliance with contract documents and project requirements. The inspector will keep Government stakeholders informed of work progress, document deficiencies, and verify corrective actions through project completion. Significant roofing inspection or installation expertise is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Review existing reports, drawings, field reports, and site photographs to understand project scope and conditions.
• Conduct onsite inspections to verify that work is properly installed and conforms to construction documents and agreed-upon processes.
• Prepare daily reports documenting work performed, inspection observations, progress, and concerns.
• Evaluate completed systems for continuity, penetrations, terminations, drainage, and protective assemblies.
• Attend project meetings at the Government’s request and prepare written reports of site visits and meetings.
• Review construction schedules for alignment with contract requirements and work being performed.
• Keep Government stakeholders informed of construction progress and quality, providing technical observations and recommendations.
• Identify and report nonconforming work, deficiencies, and defects, and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct punch-list and final inspections at substantial completion.
• Verify that outstanding deficiencies have been corrected.

Relevant Qualifications

• Experience in construction inspection, quality assurance, or quality control.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, contract documents, and project schedules.
• Ability to identify installation deficiencies and document findings in clear written reports.
• Strong communication skills and experience coordinating with project stakeholders.
• Significant roofing expertise, including knowledge of system continuity, penetrations, terminations, drainage, and protective assemblies, preferred.
