Senior Database Administrator, QDI

Senior Database Administrator position managing PostgreSQL and other relational database systems supporting Java applications. The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience, involves on-call production support rotation, and is based in Redwood City with full in-office presence.
Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, and configure multiple DBMS platforms including PostgreSQL and Oracle
- Monitor system health, optimize queries, and resolve performance bottlenecks
- Design and regularly test backup and disaster recovery strategies
- Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and system administrators on deployments and capacity planning
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for production database support
Requirements
- 5+ years of Database Administrator hands-on experience
- Strong PostgreSQL expertise with Docker and Linux proficiency
- Experience installing, configuring, and migrating SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Query optimization and performance monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix
- Backup and disaster recovery planning, execution, and testing
- Bash or Python scripting skills
- Prior on-call production support experience
Compensation: $180,000 - $210,000 base
