Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) SpecialistLocation: Tampa, FLPay Rate: $42.50 per hourSchedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM start timeHours: Full-Time, 40 hours per weekPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs within a manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations while partnering with plant leadership to promote a safe and productive workplace.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with machine guarding, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and confined space programs, along with a strong understanding of workplace safety systems and regulatory compliance.Pay & Schedule$42.50 per hourFull-time position40 hours per weekMonday-Friday7:30 AM start timeOccasional flexibility may be required based on business needsWhat You'll DoSupport and maintain site Environmental, Health & Safety programs and initiativesConduct safety audits, inspections, and workplace assessmentsInvestigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; identify root causes and corrective actionsMonitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standardsMaintain EHS documentation, records, and reporting requirementsPartner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to address safety concerns and drive continuous improvementTrack and analyze safety metrics and recommend proactive solutionsAssist with employee safety training, onboarding, and ongoing compliance initiativesSupport workers' compensation case management and return-to-work effortsCoordinate with outside vendors, consultants, and subject matter experts as neededParticipate in sustainability and environmental improvement initiativesSupport capital projects to ensure safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into project planningPromote a positive safety culture throughout the facilityQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field3-5+ years of Environmental Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environmentHands-on experience with:Machine GuardingLockout/Tagout (LOTO)Confined Space programsWorking knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety programs, PPE requirements, incident investigation procedures, and environmental compliance standardsStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and ExcelAbility to work independently and collaboratively across departmentsPreferredMaster's degree in a related fieldExperience with EHS management systems and compliance softwareExperience leading safety initiatives in a manufacturing environmentCertifications (One Required)Certified Safety Professional (CSP)Associate Safety Professional (ASP)Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)Certified Environmental Professional (CEP)Work EnvironmentManufacturing and warehouse settingFrequent exposure to production environmentsMust be able to wear required PPE, including:Safety shoesSafety glassesHearing protection (in designated areas)Long pants and appropriate work attireSafety shoe reimbursement availableExposure to machinery and industrial equipmentOccasional travel may be requiredWhy Apply?Competitive pay at $42.50 per hourOpportunity to make a direct impact on employee safety and environmental complianceCollaborative team environmentProfessional growth and development opportunitiesStable, full-time opportunity with a respected manufacturing organizationApply today to join a team committed to workplace safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.#IND1 #J-18808-Ljbffr Employmentsolutions Ny
