This role requires an individual with strong accounting expertise, an extensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to support operational and financial objectives.The position is located in Herndon, VA with an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:Manage the end-to-end revenue process, maintaining full compliance with ASC 606 requirementsReview contract terms to ensure alignment with revenue recognition requirements to ensure accuracy and resolve any accounting discrepancies and irregularitiesOversee timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year end close including account reconciliations, variance analyses and reportingPlay a key role in monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedulesOversee the full A/R cycle including billing, revenue recognition, collections, and cash applicationOversee monthly commissions processUpdate and maintain monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reportsInteract with external and internal auditors as well as external group tax accountantsInteract with parent company for intercompany transactions as well as for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirementsResponsible for supporting and responding to all audit activity required and coordinate corrective actions as necessaryAssist in budgeting and forecasting processMaintain effective communication and coordination with other departments and managementCreate, update and maintain processes and procedures as well as perform testing of controls where necessaryOther duties may be assigned in order for the accounting and finance department to achieve annual goals and objectives.QualificationsBA/BS in accounting10+ years of experience working within the general ledger area and at least 3 years of prior supervisory experience. The experience must show growth within the accounting functional area through various rolesWorking knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements within a government?contracting environmentExperience working in a fast pace/high growth environment where they have shown an ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a given time.Experience in manufacturing, technology, project-based accounting a plusOracle and Concur systems experience a plusProficient in Excel and WordSolution based problem solving skillsAbility to interact with employees and customers in a professional mannerAbility to work independently and with a team with emphasis on accuracy and timelinessExcellent organizational skillsAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingDetail oriented, adaptable to change and hands onSelf-starter, self-managed and flexibleClearance: Active DoD clearance or ability to obtain a secret DoD clearance.The iDirect Government salary range for this position ($79,239 - $138,641) is intended to provide a general guideline for compensation. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities of the role, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and other business or legal considerations.
