That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands‑on experience, or work toward a full‑time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer Flex College Campus Patrol in Bronx, NY , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $20.30 - $21.30 / Hour Job Schedule DayTimeSat04:00 PM - 12:00 AM How This Role Works Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, location‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting details and communicating with campus personnel and/or first responders as needed. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout academic buildings, residence areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns. Monitor access points, observe campus activity, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations according to site procedures. Support campus operations during classes, events, and after‑hours activity by providing directions, assisting with security‑related inquiries, and maintaining a visible presence throughout the location. Minimum Requirements A minimum of 2 or more years of security‑related experience is required. CPR certification is preferred. CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
