Production Worker

This is a 90-day temporary-to-hire Production Worker role in a pre-printing facility. You will primarily work on swing shift, with initial training on day shift, and may occasionally cover other shifts with advance notice. The position involves general labor, operating large printing equipment, mixing and pouring inks, and performing quality checks in a clean, organized, and fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Work as a general laborer in a pre-printing facility, supporting daily production activities.
• Mix and pour inks according to established procedures to ensure consistent color and quality.
• Load, operate, and monitor printing machines safely and efficiently.
• Perform assigned passover duties to ensure smooth shift-to-shift handoffs and continuity of operations.
• Conduct quality checks on printed materials and ink colors to confirm they meet specifications.
• Perform general shop housekeeping, including cleaning work areas and maintaining an organized production floor.
• Handle and lift materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.
• Use basic data entry to record production information and quality results in computer systems.
• Follow safety guidelines and work comfortably around large printing presses and at heights when required.
• Maintain reliable attendance throughout the 90-day temp period to support consistent production output.

Essential Skills

• Previous production experience in environments such as manufacturing, warehousing, general labor, or similar industrial settings.
• Demonstrated attention to detail when handling materials, operating equipment, and performing quality checks.
• Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, including swing shift as the primary schedule and occasional coverage on other shifts with notice.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights around large printing presses.
• Ability to perform basic data entry and use a computer as needed for production and quality documentation.
• Ability to read and write in English to follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and production documentation.
• Strong attendance and reliability over the 90-day temporary period.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with quality inspection in a production or industrial environment.
• General computer skills, including basic navigation and data entry.
• Backgrounds in production, warehousing, general labor, or auto mechanics, which have proven successful in this role.
• Comfort working in industrial environments that may be warm and involve exposure to inks and other production materials.
• Good tenure and stable work history, which is viewed favorably for long-term opportunities.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a very clean and organized pre-printing facility equipped with large printing presses that can be 30–40 feet tall. You may work at heights and should be comfortable doing so. The environment can become very warm during the summer months, and you should be prepared to work in these conditions. The role involves hands-on work around inks and machinery, and you must be willing to get dirty, including occasional ink spills. Training is conducted on a day shift schedule from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, for approximately 3 to 6 weeks. After training, the primary schedule is swing shift, with the possibility of covering other shifts as needed, with as much notice as possible.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
