Veterinary Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our animal care team. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians in providing medical care to a variety of small animals, primarily dogs and cats. This position offers the opportunity to work in a privately owned, veterinary environment. If you have at least one year experience in animal care or are planning a degree in veterinary medicine we encourage you to apply for this position. Duties Assist veterinarians in medical procedures and surgeries Perform X-rays and laboratory tests Handle and restrain animals during examinations and treatments Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians Maintain accurate records of patient care Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment and provide outstanding customer service Experience Desired Experience with X-ray procedures and dental terminology for animals Proficiency in handling dogs, cats and other animals Familiarity with pet medications, flea and tick control products, special foods Familiarity with veterinary vaccination protocols Understanding of animal anatomy and veterinary terminology Ability to perform laboratory procedures Ability to learn and utilize EzyVet software Strong animal handling skills A minimum of 1 year of animal care experience is strongly desired.
