Certified Welding Inspector

Aegis is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector to join our client's organization in Harvey, IL. This role is a direct hire position. The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience: High School Diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience in welding inspection (fabrication, welding, and quality control) AWS (CWI) Certification in welding inspection - must have proof of this to be considered for the role. Experience in metal fabrication and welding (mig mainly) Ability to read and work from blueprints Proficiency in using hand tools, simple fabrication tools, and measuring devices. Ability to perform acceptable welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions. Skilled in GMAW, FCAW, and/or SAW welding processes. Ability to use carbon-arc gouging (air-arc) equipment, hand grinding/profiling tools, and fixture aids. Recognition of simple visual weld defects. Experience monitoring, adjusting, and inspecting weld quality. Able to pass a 2G test and horizontal AWS test - various thickness and size. Physical requirements: Able to lift up to 60 lbs Able to pass a eye test (Jaeger) with or without glasses. Aegis Worldwide
