School-Based Physical Therapist - Kenner, LA

Job Description

Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding role providing physical therapy support across all grade levels as an itinerant PT for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract opportunity offers full-time hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, working with approximately 35 students. You'll play a key part in helping students reach their mobility, strength, and functional goals within an engaging school environment.

Key Qualifications:

Valid and active Physical Therapy (PT) state license required
Experience in school-based physical therapy preferred, especially with diverse age groups
Proficient in developing and implementing individualized therapy plans for a variety of student needs
Strong communication skills for collaboration with faculty, parents, and related service providers
Able to adapt and manage a flexible, itinerant schedule to support multiple sites as needed

Role Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs and IEP goals
Deliver hands-on PT interventions to support students with mobility, motor skills, and functional independence
Work one-on-one and in groups, adapting therapeutic strategies to various ages and abilities
Document progress and participate actively in multi-disciplinary team meetings
Provide training and guidance to staff and caregivers to reinforce therapeutic activities and ensure continuity of care
Maintain compliance with state regulations and best practices in school-based therapy
