Long Term Care Mail Order Staff Pharmacist - Detroit, MI

Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A 26-week contract opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist skilled in long-term care and mail order pharmacy settings. This role involves visiting and rotating shifts, offering a temp-to-direct-hire pathway in a dynamic environment focused on patient care and medication management.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday rotating shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM and 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
Rotating weekends are required

Key Responsibilities:

Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal regulations
Monitor patient medication adherence and detect overusage patterns
Maintain precise and confidential patient and pharmacy records
Provide expert consultation on medication usage, side effects, drug interactions, and medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
Offer clinical services including smoking cessation, blood pressure, and cholesterol management
Compound sterile and non-sterile medications following established protocols
Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to resolve drug-related issues

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; long-term care (LTC) pharmacy experience preferred
Active Michigan pharmacy license
