JOB SUMMARY

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for managing the monthly purchase planning cycle and issuing purchase orders to manufacturers for Mechanix Wear products. Working in close partnership with the Senior Manager of Product Supply, this role ensures product availability by owning inventory transfers, packaging materials procurement, out-of-stock (OOS) resolution, and On-Time In-Full (OTIF) performance — all in direct support of customer fulfillment goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions of the job are listed below. Other responsibilities may also be assigned. Please note that the essential functions may vary depending on department size, organizational structure and/or geographic location. Reasonable accommodation may be made to allow differently-abled individuals to perform the essential functions of the job. Purchase Planning & Order Management Execute the monthly buy planning process, translating supply direction from the Senior Manager of Product Supply into actionable purchase orders. Issue and manage purchase orders to domestic and international manufacturers, ensuring accuracy in quantities, pricing, and delivery timelines. Monitor open POs and proactively communicate with vendors to track order status and resolve delays. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Planning, Sales, and Operations to align procurement with demand signals. MOQ & Weeks of Supply (WOS) Management Maintain and regularly review Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) parameters by SKU and supplier, ensuring buy quantities are optimized to balance inventory investment with service level requirements. Develop and update Weeks of Supply (WOS) targets across the product portfolio, factoring in lead times, demand variability, and seasonal trends to keep products in stock. Recommend adjustments to MOQ and WOS thresholds based on sales velocity, forecast changes, and supplier constraints, escalating exceptions to the Senior Manager of Product Supply as needed. Monitor WOS coverage continuously and trigger replenishment actions when inventory falls below established minimum thresholds. Inventory Management & Transfers Own the end-to-end inventory transfer process, coordinating movement of finished goods between distribution centers and warehouse locations to meet fulfillment needs. Maintain accurate inventory records and work with the warehouse team to reconcile discrepancies. Analyze inventory levels to proactively identify potential imbalances and recommend rebalancing strategies. Serve as the primary owner of out-of-stock identification, root cause analysis, and recovery planning. Drive OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance by monitoring order fulfillment metrics and working cross-functionally to remove bottlenecks. Escalate risks and provide timely updates to stakeholders when supply constraints may impact customer commitments. Partner with Sales and Customer Service teams to prioritize inventory allocation during constrained supply situations.
