Senior Accountant

Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the General Ledger (GL), performing month‑end close activities, and preparing financial reports. This role involves working with moderate to high‑level complexity, requiring accuracy, strong analytical skills, and proactive communication. Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) is used to communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and staff. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Closing: Perform full‑cycle accounting, including monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close activities. Journal Entries & Reconciliations: Prepare and review complex journal entries and perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations. Bilingual Communication: Act as the liaison with Spanish‑speaking internal teams to clarify accounting issues and financial data. Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee high‑volume AP/AR, ensure accurate vendor payments, and manage invoicing. Compliance & Tax: Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and assist with tax filing (1099s, CA tax regulations). Analysis & Reporting: Perform variance analysis, prepare financial statements, and provide data‑driven insights to senior leadership. Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and maintain internal control procedures. Supervision: Mentor or review the work of junior accounting staff. Qualifications Languages: Full fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) required. Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience: 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior or lead role. Software Proficiency: Advanced MS Excel skills required (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Sage). Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of GAAP; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus. Experience using AI and APIs to improve processes is a plus.
