What this job involves:As a Development & Permitting Coordinator, you will support the management of land use entitlements, zoning approvals, and building permits for construction and development projects. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will help navigate regulatory requirements and coordinate with various stakeholders to support project approvals. Your developing expertise in permitting processes, attention to detail, and organizational skills will be essential to supporting successful project delivery. Your collaborative approach and commitment to learning will help you grow within our culture of excellence and client service.What your day-to-day will look like:Supporting the preparation and submission of permit applications for land use, zoning, building, and environmental approvalsAssisting in the coordination with government agencies, planning departments, and regulatory bodies throughout the permitting processHelping to track permit applications, approval timelines, and compliance requirementsConducting research on zoning regulations, building codes, and land use policies under supervisionPreparing documentation and reports for permit submissions with review from senior colleaguesSupporting due diligence activities related to site feasibility and regulatory constraintsAssisting in the coordination of technical consultants including surveyors, engineers, environmental specialists, and land use attorneysMonitoring project schedules and alerting team members to potential permitting delays or issuesMaintaining organized records of all permit applications, approvals, correspondence, and compliance documentationAttending meetings with regulatory agencies and stakeholders as assignedSupporting senior team members in preparing presentations for planning boards and public hearingsAssisting in the development of permitting strategies and timelines for assigned projectsBuilding relationships with local officials and regulatory contacts under guidanceChampioning JLL's values and culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and belongingRequired qualifications:Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in development, permitting, land use planning, or related fieldBasic understanding of land use regulations, zoning codes, and building permit processesStrong organizational skills with ability to track multiple permit applications and deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read and interpret site plans, zoning maps, and basic architectural drawingsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparationAbility to work collaboratively within a team environmentWillingness to learn and develop expertise in regulatory processesPreferred qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Environmental Studies, Construction Management, or related fieldExperience with commercial real estate development or data center projectsFamiliarity with environmental permitting requirements (wetlands, stormwater, air quality)Basic knowledge of entitlement processes including rezoning and special use permitsExperience coordinating with government agencies and consultantsUnderstanding of site development processes and construction documentationExposure to public engagement processes and community meetingsFamiliarity with permit tracking software or project management toolsKnowledge of sustainable development practices and green building standardsBasic understanding of CEQA, NEPA, or other environmental review processesThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
