Core Knowledge & Skillset Optimizes complex SQL; applies advanced data modeling; leads robust ETL/ELT; uses big data technologies (e.g., Spark); enforces governance; implements ML/predictive solutions; manages scalable pipelines. Solve high-complexity integration and performance challenges; run multiple projects; deliver custom analytics solutions and automation for scale. Set benchmarks for data quality; drive continuous improvement; make significant technical decisions with minimal oversight. Lead cross-functional work; mentor engineers; communicate complex insights to senior leaders; integrate multi-stakeholder feedback. Provide strategic consultation, lead client interactions, and advance consulting best practices. Initial Project Assignment As a Data Engineer, you will support the unique needs of our client on an AI Engineering contract supporting a federal customer in a hybrid role in the DC/Maryland/Virginia (DMV) area. Key Responsibilities Develop and deploy software into production in government environments. Set up data validation steps. Establish and maintain schemas. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or closely related degree). At least 3 years of experience in Data Engineering. Experience with Python, pandas, pandera, SQL, Postgres, Databricks, and Spark. Strong Python background. Experience working with messy data, disparate data sources, establishing and maintaining schemas, and setting up data validation steps. Comfortable working with large data workflows (100GB+). Active Secret Clearance. Nice to Have Skills A related certification is preferred but not required. Compensation Targeted base salary range: $110,000–$166,000 per year. The final offer will be based on skillset, experience, education, certifications, and location.
