The Role Our tutors act as coaches and mentors, not just instructors, supporting each learner’s progress with care and purpose. As a tutor,you’llplay a key role in every child’s learning journey by : Deliveringlessonsthatlast :Using our smart learning tool, Compass,you’lldeliver tailored sessions where youfacilitatelearning through questioning,scaffoldingand stretching. Buildingmeaningfulrelationships :With a 1:6 ratio,you’llget to know each child and create a safe, inspiring environment where they can take risks and develop a lifelong love of learning. Drivingacademicprogress :Support members as they work through the national curriculum, entrance exams, and GCSE preparation, celebrating milestones and successes along the way. You’llthriveas anExploreLearning tutorif you : Are confident leading sessions with small groups (1:6), inspiring children to engage in their learning, using positive behaviour management strategies, and consistently prioritising their safety and wellbeing. Feel comfortable supporting children aged 4–16 across the national curriculum, including 11+ entrance exams and GCSE content. Are committed to building meaningful, long-term relationships, providing the consistency and stability that helps children thrive. Excitingly, there will be times when we ask you to be at the helm of our vibrant tuition centre! You will have the opportunity to : Develop your customer service skills :you will be the main contact for parents and guardians, confidently answering any queries, and using your problem-solving skills to deliver great service and ensure smooth centre operations. Lead and inspire :you will be confident to lead and inspire your peers! Confidently supporting them in carrying out their duties and supporting them with any questions. Ensure our members are safe :you will ensure you are vigilant to any safeguarding concerns and keep the children in your care safe. You will be trusted to open and close the centre. Logistics Location This is an on-siteroleand you will be basedatourLeeds Crown Point centre. Contract This is a permanent, part-time role.You will be contracted to work a minimum of 6 hours a week over at least 2 different days. Our available shift start times are 3:30-4pm Tuesday 3:30-4pm Wednesday 3:30-4pm Thursday 3:30-4pm Friday Morning/afternoon Saturday Please note:This is not a summer-only role; we are seeking dedicated tutors to support our members throughout the next academic year and beyond. Pay Rates & Progression Earn more as you progress!You will start on the base rate for your age group, with an annual opportunity to increase your pay based on the number of hours you have tutored for us. BaseHourly Rate 18-20: £10.90 21+: £12.75 anadditional50p per hour will be added if working at a centre inside the M25. You will be paid for all training and inductions. When performing theadditionalteam leader responsibilities mentioned, your hourly pay will be increased by £2. Requirements You must be age 18 or over and have the right to work in the UK. You must have achieved a grade 6 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level or equivalent (we accept predicted GCSE grades if you will be receiving your results within the next 3 months).
