Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant IIMatrix Medical Management is looking for a full-time Staff Accountant II to join our team. The Staff Accountant II is responsible for performing general accounting duties and overseeing day-to-day accounting operations. This position manages full-cycle accounts payable and receivable, prepares reconciliations and financial reports, and ensures compliance with GAAP and organizational policies. The Staff Accountant II provides leadership and direction to assigned accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial activities.Essential Functions:Manage accounts payable and receivable transactions for facility operations within hospitals, imaging centers, and surgery centersMaintain vendor and client databases; process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports, and schedule payment runsReconcile vendor statements, track payments, and resolve discrepancies in coordination with internal departmentsTrack and reconcile payroll allocations, purchase orders, invoices, and statements across multiple facilitiesReconcile and post incoming payments; prepare and deposit payments as neededPrepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations to support monthly and year-end closeMaintain organized financial documentation and provide information for internal and external auditsAnalyze expense and revenue variances, review departmental spending, and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policiesTrain and mentor accounting staff, including setting goals, conducting performance evaluations, and providing regular feedbackOversee daily operations within the accounting and administrative functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organizational standards and proceduresMaintain schedules and ensure adequate coverage to support facility accounting operationsPerform other related tasks as neededKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Demonstrates understanding and applying accounting standards in journal entries, reconciliations, and reportingKnowledge of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statementsKnowledge of the General Ledger Accounting structure, posting processes, and month-end closing proceduresFamiliarity with processing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable invoices, payments, and collectionsKnowledge of Tax principles; payroll taxes, sales tax, and corporate tax fundamentalsProficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, and ExcelStrong attention to detail and accuracy in data management and recordkeepingExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partnersAnalytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve accounting issuesAbility to lead and support team members in daily accounting operationsEducation and Experience:Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, orFour years of experience in lieu of educationTwo (2) years of accounting experienceBenefits:Three Medical PlansTwo Dental PlansTwo Vision PlansEmployee Assistant ProgramShort- and Long-Term Disability InsuranceAccidental Death & Dismemberment Plan401(k) with a 2-year vestingPTO + Holidays
