HR Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resource Assistant to support HR operations, new hire onboarding, payroll processing, provider credentialing, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate thrives in multitasking under deadlines, maintains confidentiality, and ensures compliance with employment and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities - Manage the new hire application process, including collecting required employment information such as background checks, reference checks, resumes, I-9 forms, state tax forms, W-4 forms, insurance enrollment forms, and informing staff of fringe benefits. Process ADP payroll, ensuring accurate data entry, timely submissions, and compliance with federal/state regulations. Maintain organized and current employee files, both physical and digital, for easy access and audit readiness. Serve as liaison between the organization and insurance brokers to facilitate enrollments, claims, and policy updates. Provide clerical support to the HR Coordinator, including scheduling, document preparation, and correspondence. Set up and maintain files for all providers, ensuring completeness and organization. Credential providers for DC & MD Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance, verifying documentation and submitting applications. Assist and advise providers in updating all credentialing documentation to meet renewal deadlines and compliance standards. Collaborate with the Grants and Contracts Manager to input invoice data into the EGMS system monthly with accuracy and efficiency. Demonstrate ability to multitask and work under time constraints while prioritizing high-impact tasks. Perform other duties as assigned, supporting overall HR and operational goals. Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 3+ years of HR administrative experience, ideally in a Hospital, Health center, or healthcare facility. Proficiency in ADP payroll software, Microsoft Office Suite, and HRIS/credentialing systems (e.g., EGMS). Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information. Excellent communication skills for liaising with brokers, providers, and staff.
