About the Position: This is a time limited position. Entry level sworn law enforcement position is entry level technical work in which officers are responsible for patrolling and enforcing relevant laws within their jurisdiction. Work is performed under direct supervision of law enforcement staff/personnel of higher classifications.
What you'll need to be Successful: Must be able to abide by the MS State Personnel Board and MDOC rules, regulations, and procedures governing the agency and ensure the safety, security, and order of the facility. Must be able to operate in accordance with state and federal laws.
Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires possession of a State of Mississippi Law Enforcement Professional Certification within six months of hire. By law, certain Cadets are classified as non-state service until certification is obtained.
