Availability Requirements

To be considered, the site must be able to accommodate either of the following July coverage options (both are not required):

• Option 1: July 22-24 and July 30
• Option 2: July 24-27

Clinical Responsibilities:

• OB/GYN ED call coverage
• Vaginal deliveries
• C-sections
• General OB/GYN procedures
• Average delivery volume: 25-40 deliveries per month

Required Procedures:

• Full-scope OB/GYN coverage
• Specific procedures TBD based on privileging and competency review

Support Staff & Facility Details:

• Dedicated Family Birthing Center with OR access
• Anesthesiology support available (on-call after hours/weekends)
• General surgeons available
• 3 local OB/GYNs on staff
• 1 Family Medicine OB provider
• Pediatrician on-call
• Experienced respiratory therapists

Candidate Requirements:

• Board Certified OB/GYN or Board Eligible within 5 years - Required
• Comfortable with deliveries, C-sections, and OB/GYN ED coverage
• Willingness to complete required proctoring and privileging processes

Licenses & Certifications:

• Active California License - Required
• DEA - Required during credentialing

Proctoring Requirements: OB Proctoring:

• Observation of first two non-emergency deliveries
• If granted C-section privileges, one observed delivery must be a C-section

GYN Proctoring:

• Observation of first three cases including:
  • 1 hysteroscopy
  • 1 operative laparoscopy
  • 1 open laparotomy

Additional Review:

• Minimum 3-month retrospective review required
