Payroll Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll processing and certified payroll compliance for public works and prevailing wage projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll administration, employee record maintenance, and labor compliance reporting, including the use of LCP Tracker. Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

• Process weekly and biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Review employee timecards, job cost coding, and payroll data for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposit information.
• Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and management.
• Assist with payroll tax reporting and year-end processes.
• Prepare payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Prevailing Wage & Certified Payroll

• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for public works projects.
• Enter and maintain certified payroll information in LCP Tracker .
• Review employee classifications, wage rates, fringe benefits, and apprentice requirements to ensure prevailing wage compliance.
• Monitor and track compliance documentation, including apprenticeship agreements and fringe benefit records.
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and government agencies regarding certified payroll requirements.
• Research and resolve payroll or labor compliance discrepancies.
• Maintain organized records to support audits and agency requests.
• Stay current on prevailing wage laws and labor compliance regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting preferred.
• Experience using LCP Tracker strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of payroll regulations, wage determinations, and labor compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with public works contracts and prevailing wage requirements.
• Knowledge of apprenticeship reporting and fringe benefit administration.
• Experience working with union and non-union payrolls.
