About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Toxicology to join their pioneering team. The successful candidate will be a key leader in establishing and driving the nonclinical safety assessment strategy for small molecule programs, from early discovery to clinical development and regulatory stages. This role demands a visionary leader with a PhD, DVM, or equivalent in toxicology, pharmacology, or a related discipline, and a minimum of 15 years of industry experience in nonclinical safety and toxicology, particularly within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sector. The VP will be responsible for scientific and strategic leadership, defining target safety profiles, and ensuring the design and execution of complex toxicology studies. Expertise in pain or neuroscience therapeutic areas is highly desirable, and the role requires a strong record of regulatory authorship and agency engagement. Key responsibilities for the Vice President of Toxicology include serving as the principal nonclinical safety expert on multidisciplinary teams, influencing portfolio strategy, and upholding compliance with GLP, ICH, and international regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams, be adept at scientific communication, and possess strong people development skills. This is an executive-level position that demands agility, resilience, and the ability to shape both pipeline and organizational strategy.
