Staff accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Executive & Financial Support: Provide daily administrative and accounting support to the General Manager and Controller; participate in finance, staff, and operations meetings.
• Cash & Treasury Operations: Count, reconcile, and process daily route cash receipts using money room equipment; manage bank deposits and rolled coin reconciliations.
• Accounts Receivable & Credit: Audit and resolve aged open items; collect documentation for new customer setups, evaluate credit terms, and handle customer inquiries.
• Accounts Payable & Vendor Relations: Oversee vendor onboarding, coordinate payment schedules, and manage annual 1099 form preparation and distribution.
• General Ledger & Month-End Close: Record daily transactions, post accurate journal entries, reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts, and review inventory activity.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize specialized vending and micro-market software to pull data, analyze inventory/operational trends, generate monthly management reports, and flag unusual variances.
• Process Improvement & Systems: Lead change management initiatives to streamline workflows; leverage Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) for daily reporting and presentation needs.
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Adapt to changing business needs by supporting additional operational and financial duties as assigned.
