Registered Nurse (RN) - Step Down

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Step Down Unit (PCU) to deliver high-quality care to patients recovering from critical medical conditions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing cardiac drips and have experience with titration and management of such therapies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Step Down Unit with a focus on cardiovascular recovery.
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips, ensuring proper titration and monitoring.
• Float to Telemetry and Med-Surg floors as needed based on staffing requirements.
• Maintain patient documentation using Epic charting system.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement patient care plans.

Work Schedule

This is a night shift position requiring three 12-hour shifts per week. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Block scheduling is not applicable.

Patient Ratios

The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5.

Holiday Requirements

Candidates may choose to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas, but not both.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a Step Down or PCU setting preferred.
• Competence in titrating and managing cardiac drips is a hard stop requirement.
• Valid nursing license and ACLS certification.

Additional Information

This position does not require on-call duties. Approved work hours are set at 48 hours per week.
