Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring WA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of PCU/telemetry experience.

Details

• Short Term Acute Care, Level III Trauma Center hospital setting
• PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown unit with telemetry and neurological/psychiatric patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Block schedule required
• Floating required between units and sister facilities
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/stepdown or telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with blood product administration and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory skills including chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and oxygen administration preferred
• Experience managing and interpreting cardiac dysrhythmias, including managing cardiac drips (no titration)
• IV insulin protocol experience required; titration of insulin drips preferred
• Experience with continuous bladder irrigation and feeding tube management preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for compliance

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for PCU/telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as needed
• Scrubs may be any color; surgical services attire provided
• Must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including dates and location
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must not live within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; limited flexibility for additional time off after submission
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• No fee for parking at the facility
