Senior Accounting SpecialistOur client, a logistics and transportation-focused organization, is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to join their team. As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will be part of the accounting function supporting day-to-day operations, month-end close, compliance readiness, and cash monitoring. If you're a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys accuracy, process improvement, and partnering across teams, this role is built for you. You'll coordinate and guide Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities while helping ensure strong internal controls and reliable financial reporting.Location: Jacksonville, FLPay Range: 24-36 DOEShift: 8 hour shift between the hours of 7am-6pm M-FWhat's the Job?Support daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, fixed assets tracking, and accounting record maintenance.Coordinate and provide day-to-day guidance to the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team to support timely processing and accurate financial records.Review AR/AP activity for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, helping maintain clean and reliable accounting data.Perform monthly closing procedures within CargoWise One and prepare/analyze month-end reporting results.Assist with maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and documentation that support internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance.What's Needed?Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.4–7 years of progressive accounting experience preferred, with strong experience supporting financial reporting and reconciliation processes.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus strong analytical and problem-solving ability.Proficiency with accounting software systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools.What's in it for me?Opportunity to expand responsibility while staying hands-on in core accounting operations.Clear impact on month-end close quality, reporting accuracy, and internal control strength.Collaboration with finance leadership and operational teams to support timely, reliable financial information.Exposure to cash monitoring and borrowing base reporting to help maintain operational liquidity.A role that values process improvement, documentation updates, and continuous learning within AR/AP workflows.Upon completion of waiting period associates are eligible for:Medical and Prescription Drug PlansDental PlanSupplemental Life InsuranceShort Term Disability Insurance401(k)If this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
