Overview Position Title: Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker Outreach (MSFW) Employment Program Representative Salary: $4,055.00 - $6,310.00 per month Employee Type: Full Time, Permanent Location: San Joaquin County Work Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday–Friday Work Location: In Office, with hybrid telework options available (telework at the discretion of the Department) Responsibilities Promote and explain EDD programs and services to farmworkers, employers, agencies and community‑based organizations. Conduct employer field visits to educate employers on regulations, appropriate work conditions and ensure compliance with Department of Labor laws. Take appropriate action to correct non‑compliance, record complaints, and address concerns of MSFWs. Provide customer service and offer training referrals, collaborate with partners to provide supportive services and resources. Assist MSFWs with CalJOBS registration, record services, resume building, and other employment services. Present at community organizations and job/resource fairs. Maintain detailed monthly reports and provide end‑of‑month service summaries. Minimum Requirements Must be bilingual in Spanish: able to read, write and speak Spanish and pass a Spanish fluency examination. Experience in outreach, customer service, or a related field; knowledge of MSFW and farm worker rights. Ability to conduct presentations and field visits, and to work with diverse audiences. Willingness and ability to travel within the state for training or to other Workforce Services locations. Full‑time, on‑site availability; telework may be available at the Department’s discretion. Desirable Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a team environment. Desire to help people. Ability to use tact and good judgment while communicating with customers, co‑workers, management and external partners. Experience making oral presentations to varied audiences. Experience in a fast‑paced and changing environment. Experience in developing statistical data and evaluating results. Ability to identify a problem, evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations or decisions. Ability to plan, organize, adapt to changing assignments and priorities, and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel or similar software. Knowledge of Migrant or Seasonal Farm workers (MSFW) and farm worker rights. Working Conditions This position requires local in‑person workload. Telework may be available, but the Department may require a return to the office as needed. Travel may be necessary for training or to other Workforce Services locations. The work environment follows the recommended safety guidance from the California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without a visa.
