Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Special Requests: If the candidate worked at a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from the perm facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to. Block schedule can be accommodated if unit needs are met. Travelers may be required to work holidays if needed by the unit.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read strips and be comfortable with this patient population. Must be able to perform EKGs if PCTs are unable.

Unit Details: Post heart caths, TR Bands, CHF, COPD, post pacers (no external pacers), medical management, patients waiting for CABG consult, and arrhythmias. Heparin titration only; Cardizem and Amiodarone are not titrated. Occasionally Lasix or Bumex. Monitor techs are available and serve as the central monitor station for the North Tower. PCT duties include ADLs, FSBS, and EKGs when able. Occasional high flow in certain rooms. BiPAP and CPAP are used for supportive therapy only; continuous dependence is very rare and those patients would typically transfer to a higher-acuity unit. Charge nurse coverage is 24/7. Night charge always takes a patient assignment; travelers may be allowed to take charge if comfortable. Fast-paced unit with approximately 8-12 discharges per day and 8-12 admissions per day. RNs are expected to do their own admissions and discharges, and the unit has a unit clerk.

Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling is allowed. Every other weekend for travelers. Weekend shifts for nights are Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon. Call or standby may occur if census is low, but it is very rare.

Floating Requirements: Travelers are worked into the float rotation and may float anywhere in the hospital, including ICU (rare) and stepdown, but will only be assigned patients within their skillset.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
