HR Generalist

Position Overview The HR Generalist role is responsible for managing day-to-day human resources operations while providing administrative support for the Accounting, Finance & Admin Department. This role will own key HR processes including onboarding, personnel file management, benefits administration, and employee experience initiatives. In addition to HR responsibilities, this position will assist with administrative operations such as insurance management, compliance documentation, workers’ compensation audits, and general operational support. As the organization grows, this role will help build and document processes, improve internal systems, and support cross-departmental operational needs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a growing organization where they can take ownership of HR functions while supporting broader organization administration needs. Key Responsibilities Manage the full employee onboarding process including documentation, orientation coordination, and system setup. Maintain and organize employee personnel files, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Hiring and recruitment Training and development Coordinate team offsites, employee events, and engagement initiatives. Oversee employee equipment and manage relationship with the outsourced IT vendor. Support employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and status changes. Assist with HR policy implementation and ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping. Assist with benefits administration including health insurance, retirement plans (401k), and other employee benefit programs. Coordinate enrollment periods and maintain benefits documentation. Support workers’ compensation reporting and audit preparation. Maintain compliance with employment regulations and HR best practices. Assist with internal audits related to HR and benefits documentation. Assist with administrative processes and internal documentation. Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal process documentation. Provide administrative support for insurance policies and related business documentation. Support business operations by coordinating internal administrative systems and workflows. Provide accounting support such as data entry in QBO and expense management in Ramp. Assist with payroll-related documentation and benefits reconciliation. Support finance and accounting leadership with administrative aspects of audits and reporting. Identify opportunities to improve HR and administrative processes. Create and maintain clear process documentation and internal procedures. Support the development of scalable administrative systems as the organization grows. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5 years of experience in HR, administrative operations, or a related role. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Experience managing confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a startup or growing organization. Preferred Experience with Ramp/QBO/BambooHR Experience with benefits administration and compliance documentation. Familiarity with payroll coordination and workers’ compensation processes.
