Overview POSITION SUMMARY : The Director– Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting is a highly visible role within USAP’s corporate finance organization and is responsible for leading key aspects of the Company’s financial reporting, technical accounting, consolidation, and reporting infrastructure. This role oversees the preparation of accurate, timely, and well-supported financial reporting, including monthly consolidating financial statements, intercompany eliminations, U.S. GAAP financial statements, footnote disclosures, and annual audit support.This individual will serve as a technical accounting and reporting leader, supporting complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, business combinations, purchase accounting, goodwill and intangible asset impairment, equity-based compensation, leases, and other significant accounting matters. The Director– Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting will also support the continued development of accounting policies, internal control documentation, reporting processes, and financial statement support designed to be scalable, audit-ready, and aligned with best-in-class public-company reporting expectations.As USAP continues to mature its reporting environment, this role will partner closely with the CAO, CFO, FP&A, tax, legal, revenue cycle management, platform CFOs, shared services, platform accounting, external auditors, and other business leaders to strengthen reporting quality, disclosure readiness, close discipline, SOX-readiness efforts, and cross‑functional governance over financial reporting. A successful candidate will bring strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, analytical capability, leadership presence, and the ability to drive process improvement in a complex, multi‑entity healthcare environment. The base pay estimate for this role is $107,700‑$183,100 annually. The final offer will depend on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate. This range is for base pay only and does not include bonuses or other compensation. This position is eligible for an annual bonus. Bonuses are not guaranteed and are awarded based on company and individual performance. Job Highlights ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : (The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of this job with or without a reasonable accommodation) Serves as a leader within the corporate accounting organization, supporting the development of a public‑company‑ready financial reporting function, including SEC-style reporting readiness, technical accounting governance, internal control maturity, reporting technology, and audit committee support. Oversees the monthly financial reporting function and works closely with FP&A, revenue cycle management, platform CFOs, shared services and platform accounting teams, the tax department, and all other divisions of USAP as needed. Leads continuous improvement of the monthly and quarterly close and reporting process, including accelerated close timelines, reporting calendar discipline, review controls, account analysis standards, variance review, financial statement tie‑outs, and timely escalation of reporting issues. Supports public‑company‑ready reporting processes, including financial statement preparation and review, footnote disclosures, MD&A and non‑GAAP measure support, disclosure documentation, financial statement tie‑outs, review controls, and reporting calendar discipline. Supports SOX-readiness efforts, including process documentation, control design, control execution evidence, remediation tracking, and coordination with process owners. Performs technical accounting research and prepares accounting analyses and whitepapers for complex U.S. GAAP matters, including revenue recognition, business combinations, purchase accounting, goodwill and intangible asset impairment, equity‑based compensation, leases, debt and equity transactions, segment reporting, EPS considerations, related‑party matters, and new accounting standard adoption. Partners with the CAO, legal, FP&A, tax, treasury, internal audit, external advisors, and other stakeholders to support disclosure governance, cross‑functional review of external reporting materials, reporting consistency, and audit‑ready documentation. Ensures timely and accurate financial reports in order to assist the CFO, CAO, the board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities. Provides accounting support to the business development team and other strategic initiatives, including evaluation of proposed transactions, acquisition‑related accounting considerations, and related financial reporting impacts. Partners with accounting, FP&A, Workday systems, and other finance leaders to improve reporting automation, data integrity, dashboarding, financial reporting analytics, and scalable reporting processes. Participates in the development and maintenance of accounting policies, reporting procedures, and internal control documentation to support consistent application of U.S. GAAP and audit‑ready reporting. Serves as a key liaison with external auditors, managing audit requests, PBC deliverables, issue resolution, reporting timelines, audit‑ready support for significant accounting and disclosure matters, and recurring audit status meetings during quarterly and annual reporting cycles. Acts as an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts (including leases) into which the company may enter. Evaluates the financial reporting division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as provides individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities of individuals. Supervises and mentors staff to develop their accounting and problem‑solving skills. Manages or participates in special projects as needed. Performs other duties as assigned/requested. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs): Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 7‑10 years of progressing accounting, financial reporting, technical accounting, or audit experience required. Public‑company reporting, IPO readiness, or transaction‑readiness experience strongly preferred, including preparation or review of SEC‑style filings, MD&A, earnings release materials, disclosure controls, governance routines, and public‑company‑quality financial statements. CPA required or strongly preferred; Big 4 or national public accounting experience preferred. Experience with Workiva or similar external reporting platforms strongly preferred, including financial statement tie‑out, disclosure management, version control, SEC filing support, and XBRL coordination. Ability to prepare executive‑level and audit committee materials, including summaries of technical accounting matters, reporting risks, audit status, internal control themes, and key financial reporting judgments. Exposure to the healthcare industry preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with Workday Financials, consolidation/reporting tools, and reporting automation preferred. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, consolidations, technical accounting, and financial reporting controls. Demonstrated ability to prepare, review, and support complex financial statements and footnote disclosures. Ability to operate in a complex, multi‑entity environment with significant intercompany activity and consolidation requirements. Strong attention to detail, organizational discipline, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced reporting environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting, financial reporting, and U.S. GAAP matters to executive leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders. Energetic, forward‑thinking, and creative with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image. Sound judgment, strong analytical capability, and ability to balance technical accounting requirements with practical business considerations.
