Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adults in a Med Surg unit using the nursing process.
- Collect, assess, and document relevant patient data; identify care needs and priorities.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans; coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses, and adjust care as needed.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort; participate in discharge planning and continuity of care.
- Educate patients and families; supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff; maintain accurate charting in the patient record.

Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California required).
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification from an approved vendor (per policy) is required; facility policy requires BLS.
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; acute care/Med Surg experience preferred.
- Education: BSN preferred.
- Systems: Proficiency with electronic health records; for backfill duties, experience with EPIC and Cerner is required.
- Additional: Ability to work in a fast-paced Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting and participate in daily patient care activities in Med Surg.
