We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our client's 3rd Shift  manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various cutting machinery, including Blade saws and grinders to produce high-quality metal and sheet metal components. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, precision measurement skills, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints. The Saw Operator will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of fabrication processes within our production environment.

Starting Wage: $21/hr. 

Duties

• Operate and maintain Blade saw and other related equipment required to prep and supply materials for production.
• Complete computer control set-up and adjustments.
• Perform material handling duties to include but not limited to kitting of subassemblies for production assembly and other assembly processes.
• Monitor and drive quality in Blade quality and cutting.
• Participates and coordinates programs related to employee communications, placements, training and development, orientation, quality, ect.
• Complete paperwork for projects to include material used, time keeping records, and work order completions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to determine cutting requirements.
• Utilize hand tools, measuring instruments for quality inspection and ensuring dimensional accuracy.
• Set up tooling, fixtures, and tooling devices on machines to ensure proper operation.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Conduct quality inspections on finished parts to verify adherence to specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

• Must have High School Diploma/GED or equivalent is required
• General Metal working experience including press break, extrusion cutting, and a strong mechanical aptitude is required.
• Proficiency with pneumatic punches, cutting equipment, and press break machines is required.
• Mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly.
• Ability to read blueprints accurately and understand GD&T principles.
• Proficiency with basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
• Experience with quality inspection of parts as they come off the machine
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to machine operation including Blade saw
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality components within tight tolerances.
