Human Resources Generalist

We are seeking a professional, mature, and highly adaptable HR Generalist / HR Coordinator to join our team in a broad, hands-on HR role. This position will provide day-to-day human resources support across a professional services organization, with a significant focus on recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, benefits, HR administration, and employee support. The ideal candidate will be a confident HR professional who can independently manage routine HR questions and situations, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively with a wide range of personalities and departments. Key Responsibilities Manage a significant portion of the company’s full-cycle recruiting process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, coordinating interviews, candidate communication, and onboarding. Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and identify qualified candidates. Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to employees and managers across the organization. Serve as a resource for routine employee relations matters, workplace questions, and HR policies and procedures. Respond to employee questions regarding PTO, benefits, payroll-related HR questions, policies, and general employment matters. Coordinate and manage the employee onboarding process, ensuring new hires have a smooth and professional experience. Maintain accurate employee information and records within the company’s HRIS and PEO systems. Independently navigate HR systems to answer questions and complete routine HR processes, including employee onboarding, PTO tracking, employee information updates, and other HR transactions. Assist with administration and communication of the employee handbook, company policies, and HR procedures. Support benefits administration and serve as a point of contact for employee benefits questions. Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion when handling sensitive employee and company information. Assist with various HR projects, reporting, compliance activities, and administrative responsibilities as needed. Partner with leadership to ensure HR practices are consistently and professionally administered. Qualifications Approximately 4+ years of progressive HR experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Generalist, or similar role. Strong recruiting experience, with the ability to independently manage multiple open positions and competing priorities. Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, benefits, PTO, policies, and general HR administration. Strong working knowledge of HRIS and/or PEO systems. Paychex experience is a plus, particularly experience navigating Paychex HRIS and related employee processes. Experience within a professional services environment is preferred, but prior law firm experience is not required. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of personalities, departments, and levels of leadership. Strong judgment and the ability to determine when an issue requires escalation versus when it can be resolved independently. High level of professionalism, discretion, maturity, and integrity. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality when working with employees. Comfortable working in an environment with demanding personalities and able to remain calm, diplomatic, and solutions-oriented. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
