LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a growing organization in the Columbus area with its search for an Accountant. This contract-to-hire opportunity is a great next step for an accounting professional who has gained experience in public accounting and is ready to transition into a corporate environment. The position offers exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis, along with the opportunity to continue developing under an experienced accounting team. The role will begin onsite before transitioning to a hybrid schedule, with the intention of finding someone interested in a long-term opportunity and potential permanent conversion. Responsibilities Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and financial reporting processes. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting general ledger documentation. Review financial results, investigate variances, and help ensure reporting accuracy. Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements and related reporting. Maintain organized accounting records and supporting schedules for financial activity. Collaborate with the accounting team on analysis, reporting initiatives, and special projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required At least 1 year of experience working in a public accounting environment Solid understanding of GAAP and fundamental financial reporting concepts Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements Strong Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and vlookups Detail-oriented and organized with an interest in building a long-term career within corporate accounting.
