The Open Link, a multi-service non-profit organization serving the people of the Upper Perkiomen Valley with a food pantry, senior center, GED preparation and testing, employment counseling, Meals on Wheels and a temporary weather-related homeless shelter is seeking an experienced, strategic, and relationship-driven Development Director to lead our fundraising and resource development efforts and help strengthen the long-term sustainability of our organization.

This is an exciting opportunity for a development professional who understands that successful fundraising is about more than asking for money. It is about building relationships, telling compelling stories, connecting people to a mission they believe in, and creating meaningful opportunities for individuals and organizations to invest in their community.

The Development Director will work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Development Committee, staff, volunteers, donors, businesses, foundations, faith communities, and community partners to grow philanthropic support for The Open Link and the people we serve.

The Development Director will provide leadership for a comprehensive development program that includes:

• Annual giving and individual donor development
• Major gifts and prospect cultivation
• Foundation and grant development
• Corporate partnerships and sponsorships
• Fundraising events and campaigns
• Donor stewardship and retention
• Capital campaign preparation and implementation
• Planned and legacy giving
• Development communications and storytelling
• Fundraising data, reporting, and analytics
• Board and volunteer engagement in philanthropy

This position is both strategic and hands-on . We are looking for someone who can develop the big-picture strategy while also being willing to write the grant, make the donor call, prepare the proposal, analyze the numbers, attend the event, and personally build the relationships that make philanthropy possible.

Qualifications:

Required

• 3–5 years of progressive professional fundraising/development experience with demonstrated results.
• Experience developing and implementing fundraising plans and meeting measurable goals.
• Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: individual giving, major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, or special events.
• Experience with donor management/fundraising software such as DonorPerfect, Blackbaud, or comparable systems.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and project-management abilities.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidential donor and organizational information.
• Commitment to ethical fundraising practices.

Preferred

• Major-gift fundraising and moves-management experience.
• Capital campaign experience.
• Corporate and community partnership development.
• Planned or legacy giving experience.
• Fundraising analytics and database management.
• Experience working in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
• Experience engaging and training Board members in fundraising.

A bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, marketing, public relations, fundraising, or a related field is preferred.
