Position Summary

The Staff Actuary will serve as Windsor Life's internal actuarial resource, responsible for day-to-day reserving, asset-liability management, and the ongoing actuarial oversight of the company's MYGA product portfolio. The role is the primary internal support for the company's external Appointed Actuary and has responsibility to maintain reserve integrity, manage ALM on an ongoing basis, and serve as the primary client representative for the external Appointed Actuary and additional external actuarial resources. This individual will also support product development as Windsor Life evaluates expansion into fixed indexed annuities and other product lines. The role reports to the CFO and works closely with the Appointed Actuary at Milliman, outside investment advisors, and the Controller. It requires a candidate who is technically strong, comfortable working in a startup environment with limited support staff, and capable of building actuarial processes and documentation standards from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate and maintain statutory reserves for the MYGA block in accordance with applicable NAIC standards, including VM-22
• Own the ALM monitoring process, including cash flow projections, duration matching analysis, and interest rate sensitivity testing
• Support the Appointed Actuary in the preparation of actuarial opinions, asset adequacy analyses, and annual actuarial reports
• Maintain actuarial assumptions (lapse, mortality, surrender) and update periodically based on emerging experience
• Provide actuarial input into TDI quarterly and annual statement filings
• Support product development and pricing review for MYGA products, including rate changes and new guarantee period offerings
• Prepare actuarial analyses to support reinsurance structuring and pricing as new reinsurance relationships are established
• Monitor industry experience data and regulatory developments relevant to fixed annuity reserving and valuation
• Build and maintain actuarial models and documentation in a manner consistent with professional standards and regulatory expectations
• As the product portfolio expands, support actuarial work related to fixed indexed annuities or other product lines

Qualifications

• FSA or ASA designation; FSA preferred; progress toward FSA considered for candidates with strong relevant experience
• 510 years of actuarial experience in life and annuity products; fixed annuity (MYGA) experience required
• Hands-on experience with VM-22 and statutory reserving for fixed deferred annuity products
• Working knowledge of asset-liability management principles and fixed income investment mechanics
• Experience working alongside or managing the relationship with an appointed actuary or external actuarial consulting firm
• Fixed indexed annuity actuarial experience is a meaningful advantage given the company's stated product roadmap
• Strong modeling skills; proficiency in actuarial modeling tools and Excel-based cash flow modeling
• Ability to communicate actuarial concepts clearly to non-actuarial audiences including the Board and regulatory examiners
