Laboratory Administrative Assistant

EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Administrative Assistant in San Leandro, CA. This is an administrative support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee the shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples.

Essential duties and responsibilities include receiving environmental samples and entering Chain of Custody into LIMS system, reviewing paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness, quality control of samples to ensure sample integrity, transferring samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations, coordinating and performing sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administration, generating reports, invoices, and entering data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client ready report, ensuring the final report is prepared and that the results are reported to the client in a timely manner, assisting with internal and external client questions via phone, e-mail, and in person, acting as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff, and other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, authorization to work in the United States indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorship, experience in administration, data entry, and customer service, proficiency in MS Office, excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clientele, ability to work in a high volume environment, ability to stand and sit for various lengths of time, ability to lift up to 25lbs, effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance.
