Program Supervisor - Best Friend Park

Job Description The Program Supervisor will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and scheduling the daily activities of recreation‑related programs and facility events at Best Friend Park. The incumbent will supervise staff, including prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. Responsibilities Supervise and support full‑time and part‑time staff, including continual training. Communicate, develop, and enforce guidelines, policies, and procedures in relation to facility user groups. Ensure safety of program participants and facility operations and maintain a healthy and safe working environment. Receive and resolve complaints; publicize programs and events; interact with user groups, the public, and volunteers involved in public relations. Complete and process paperwork and permit requests, and prepare and maintain various records and forms regarding program objectives, evaluations, rules, regulations, ordinances, and financial statuses. Handle daily operations including facility maintenance oversight, cash handling, preparing, maintaining, and monitoring budgets and purchasing. Implement and schedule programming and special events for the facility, parks, pavilions, and athletic fields. Complete Civic Rec entries for camps, programs, and classes. Implement and coordinate activities with internal and external departments to determine programming needs. Evaluate program objectives and marketing strategies. Advertise and communicate about upcoming programs and events in multi‑media platforms, including outreach events. Handle permitting of all rentals, including indoor/outdoor recreation, athletic, and pavilion facilities. Oversee youth development programs, including camps and adventure days out. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Health and Human Services, Senior Services, History, Education, or a closely related field and at least two years’ experience in a recreational setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Valid driver’s license.
