Vice President, Alternatives Fund Controller

A leading global alternative investment platform is seeking a Vice President, Alternatives Fund Controller to support a rapidly growing private credit business. This is a highly visible role offering broad exposure to complex evergreen fund structures, sophisticated credit strategies, senior investment professionals, and strategic operational initiatives.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional fund accounting position. The team operates within a controllership model, providing end-to-end oversight across fund accounting, reporting, treasury, audits, service providers, and process improvement initiatives. The role offers significant interaction with portfolio managers, legal, tax, compliance, operations, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Fund Controller for a group of complex evergreen and open-ended alternative investment funds.
• Oversee fund administrators and review NAVs, investor allocations, financial statements, and reporting packages.
• Manage fund accounting, reporting, controls, and close processes.
• Partner with investment teams on complex transactions and reporting implications.
• Oversee liquidity management, subscriptions, redemptions, distributions, and capital activity.
• Coordinate audits, regulatory reporting, and third-party service provider relationships.
• Lead operational improvement and automation initiatives to enhance scalability and controls.
• Support new product launches and evolving fund structures.

Target Profile

• 8-15 years of experience within alternative investment accounting, fund accounting, audit, or finance.
• Strong public accounting foundation preferred (Big 4 or comparable firm).
• Experience within alternative asset management, hedge funds, private credit, structured products, private equity, or other complex investment strategies.
• Understanding of investment company accounting, US GAAP, and fund operations.
• Experience overseeing fund administrators and external service providers.
• CPA preferred.
