Job Description Eurofins Built Environment Testing is searching for an experienced Asbestos Analyst in Folsom, CA. This position is not located in Los Angeles. Relocation assistance is available for experienced candidates. The Analyst primarily performs analysis of bulk samples using PLM for asbestos. The analyst prepares and analyzes environmental samples according to scientific methodology, complies with the company Quality Assurance programs and SOPs, and validates and reviews data for accuracy. The analyst enters laboratory data into the LIMS, generates required reports to clients, schedules sample workload per due dates and hold times, and operates the job‑specific laboratory testing equipment with discretion and judgment. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze aerobiological and environmental samples for asbestos. Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS. Perform independent data reviews of other analysts’ work. Analyze reference materials, proficiency samples and other quality control samples as needed. Maintain client service and provide technical support as needed. Assist the QA manager in developing, implementing and collecting data for QA processes for various analytical tests. Confirm lab results as needed by client services personnel. Complete all analytical testing and Quality Assurance tasks as required. Assist in pursuing, receiving and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations. Maintain and update training and QA documents on site. Coordinate and manage projects according to rush status and due time for timely delivery. Assist co‑workers on analytical questions as necessary. Participate in Lean initiatives as needed. Follow company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do the same. Manage and maintain inventory of re-sale supply items and laboratory consumables, re‑ordering supplies as needed. Manage and dispose analyzed samples as needed. Provide training support for relevant analytical services. Recommend and coordinate sample transfer as necessary. Establish and maintain laboratory stock culture and reference samples. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for errors and issues as needed. Maintain all equipment properly and coordinate servicing of all laboratory equipment. Routinely communicate available capacity to Regional Manager. Support other departments within the lab when appropriate and as needed. Other responsibilities as determined by the Supervisor/Manager. Basic Minimum Qualifications 1+ years of experience performing asbestos microscopy (2‑3 years is ideal). Must be able to work in Folsom, CA. Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, geology or a closely related science. Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship. Professional working proficiency in English. Shift Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Preferred Qualifications 8 units of microbiology courses preferred. General regulatory requirements knowledge. Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases. Strong scientific and organizational skills. Compensation and Benefits Compensation Range: $22‑$26 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Sign‑on bonus available for qualified candidates with PLM Asbestos Analysis experience. Position is full‑time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with weekends and overtime as needed. The actual base compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base compensation of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
