SUMMARY The Hall Manager is responsible for fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging residential community that advances student belonging, persistence, and completion. Grounded in the College's Maroon and Gold Standards (MGS) and housing vision, the Hall Manager supports the development and implementation of Living and Learning Communities (LLCs), integrates co-curricular and academic experiences, and ensures a consistent, student-centered residential experience for all residents.
This position requires living in a residence hall in a one-bedroom apartment provided by the College. Fire code limits the apartment occupancy to two individuals. College policies prohibit individuals under the age of 18 from living in a residence hall. Housing and a meal allowance are included.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has supervisory responsibilities for student Resident Assistants and for student employees.
CONTACTS AND PURPOSE OF CONTACTS Internal:Frequent contact in an information sharing capacity with faculty, staff and students, especially in departments like Student Life, Security, Student Services, Facilities Operations, Marketing
External:Regular contact with students and community members in a service-provider capacity, providing information and problem solving. Communicate with JC stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications

Community Development and Student Experience
- Create a welcoming, inclusive residential environment that reflects MGS and promotes dignity, respect, and belonging for all students.
- Build strong relationships with residents through regular engagement, visibility, and proactive outreach.
- Address student concerns with a Human First approach that balances care, accountability, and consistency.
- Support conflict resolution and community standards in alignment with institutional policies and values.
- Support the implementation and ongoing development of Living and Learning Communities aligned with academic pathways, co-curricular interests, and student demographics.
- Coordinate programming that integrates academic support, faculty engagement, and co-curricular experiences within residential communities.
- Partner with faculty, advising, and Student Life to deliver intentional programming that enhances student learning and connection.
- Track participation and engagement within LLCs and contribute to ongoing assessment and improvement efforts.
- Partner with Admissions and Recruitment teams to support housing-related recruitment efforts, including follow-up with prospective student leads, participation in campus visits and events, and communicating the value of the residential experience as part of the student journey.
- Actively support student retention and completion efforts through early identification of student needs and timely referral to campus resources.
- Collaborate with advising, faculty, and support services to connect residents to academic and personal support systems.
- Utilize early alert systems and other data tools to identify at-risk students and engage in proactive outreach.
- Promote academic success through study initiatives, peer engagement, and structured support opportunities within the residence halls.
- Partner with Student Life to plan and implement a range of programs and events that engage both residential and commuter students where appropriate.
- Collaborate with Student Life to align residential programming with broader campus engagement efforts.
- Ensure programming reflects diverse student interests and supports holistic development.
- Oversee day-to-day hall operations, including occupancy management, room assignments, and resident communications.
- Ensure accurate and timely use of housing systems and institutional data (e.g., rosters, reports).
- Support enforcement of housing policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents in coordination with Campus Safety and other departments.
- Take part in the hiring process, train and supervise student Resident Advisors (RAs), student Desk Assistants (DAs), and other student employees.
- Partner with Security, Athletics, Facilities, Enterprise Services Department, Judicial and other departments in furtherance of supporting students and operational excellence.
- Work closely with the Director of Residence Life to advance strategic housing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with campus partners including Student Services, Athletics, Facilities, and Campus Safety to ensure a seamless residential experience.
- Serve as a visible leader and role model for student staff and residents.
