Take a look at what our clients and employees have to say: Chazin reviews - Best of Accounting Winner (clearlyrated.com)About the RoleChazin is seeking an Onboarding Senior Accountant to guide nonprofit clients through the onboarding process by reviewing financial records, resolving discrepancies, and preparing reconciliations under tight deadlines. This role is well suited for someone who does their best work in a structured environment, applies sound judgment to detailed accounting issues, and balances independent execution with effective collaboration across teams and clients.Core Responsibilities:Support the onboarding of new nonprofit clients by reviewing financial records and helping ensure transactions are properly recordedProvide full-cycle accounting support across multiple client accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger activityPrepare month-end close workbooks, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly financial statementsReview income statement and balance sheet activity for reasonableness, coding accuracy, classification, and completenessResearch irregularities, identify discrepancies, and prepare journal entries to correct financial errorsApply nonprofit revenue recognition guidance, including exchange transactions, contributions, and donor restrictionsReview investment statements and prepare investment roll forwards to support accurate financial reportingAssist with grant management and reporting requirementsPrepare audit schedules, provide supporting documentation, and coordinate deliverables during audits, including single auditsAssist with Form 990 preparation and other local, state, and federal filingsComplete specialized reporting to support client decision-makingContribute to financial analysis, cash flow forecasting, and budget preparation under the guidance of a ControllerMeet client deadlines and submit work to compliance and quality control in a timely mannerSkills & Abilities:Strong command of general accounting principles and financial statement preparationAbility to work through detailed account activity, identify inconsistencies, and resolve issues with sound documentationComfort working within established processes, compliance expectations, and quality control standardsAbility to manage multiple client deadlines while maintaining accuracy and follow-throughClear written communication for schedules, reconciliations, reporting, and audit supportAbility to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with internal teamsWorking knowledge of nonprofit accounting practices preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office 365, QuickBooks Online, BILL, and the ability to become proficient with Sage Intacct and other third-party applicationsOther Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experienceCPA license preferredPublic or outsourced accounting experience preferredNonprofit accounting experience preferredMinimum of five years of general accounting experienceExperience in audit preparationAbility to work from home professionally and independentlyCompensation: The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $88,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
