We take pride in fostering a safe environment for all employees in our climate-controlled plants.Summary: The Stitcher Operator is responsible for the setup, adjustment, and safe operation of 6 pocket Muller Martini-Presto saddle stitchers to produce quality finished products such as magazines, catalogs and pamphlets that meet customer specifications and quality standards.Schedule: 1st shift, Monday - Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM, or similar. Training may occur other times.Salary Range: $17.00 - $20.00 hourlyCompensation commensurate with experience.At time, we are not engaging with agencies or third-party recruiters. Thank you for understanding.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccess the batching system to view batch lists and identify priority jobs to be completedReview job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specifications for custom jobsEnsure machines are ready and set specifications to run products as requiredQuality control of completed jobs, providing updates on job status and schedule to the supervisorMake adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and timely flow of materialsMonitor assigned machine during run to ensure machines are maintaining the proper requirementsUnload machine and stack materials on palletsEnsure jobs are meeting quality and quantity requirementsTroubleshoot machine problems, resolve if possible, notifying Floor SupervisorMaintain proper machine maintenance and lubricationRemove waste items for recyclingComplete and process all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environmentAssist in cultivating an interdependent safety culture by reporting workplace hazards, related injuries, illnesses and/or near misses to management immediatelyAttend all department/company meetingsWear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when requiredOther duties as assignedExperience and QualificationsEducation, Licenses, Certifications, Experiences:High School Diploma or GED equivalency; or six-months to one-year related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceThree (3) year's experience with Muller Martini-Presto saddle stitchersCritical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities RequirementsProblem-Solving and Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills when faced with unexpected challenges, such as machine malfunctions, material shortages, or errors in print quality. Ability to adapt to new printing technologies or changes in production schedules, ensuring smooth operations despite changes.Time Management & Efficiency: Ability to manage multiple print jobs simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without sacrificing quality. Organizing workflows, preparing materials in advance, and optimizing print runs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Attention to Detail: Precision in monitoring print jobs to ensure all details, such as color accuracy, image sharpness, and print placement, meet the required standards. Detecting small defects or inconsistencies during production and taking corrective action immediately.Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand corporate policies, job-related documents, and written/verbal instructions in English to ensure effective and compliant job performance.Strong foundational math skills, with the ability to perform basic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Highly detail-oriented, organized, and efficient in managing time, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks accurately.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
