Night Auditor

The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions; reviewing, organizing and compiling management reports on a timely basis and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. He/she is also responsible for effectively communicating concerns and/or related issues to all levels of management and performing guest service agent duties as required, including check-in, check-out, switchboard operation and reservations.

Responsibilities include working with financial information and data, cross training in other accounting or hotel-related areas, prioritizing job functions to meet deadlines, performing guest services functions, auditing and reconciling financial and statistical reports, preparing and distributing necessary daily and month-end reports, ensuring accuracy of all numbers reported, inputting and updating financial information into corporate communications network, performing data processing system functions, keeping management abreast of any unusual operational or financial events, ensuring overall guest satisfaction, responding to governmental inquiries upon receipt, and handling guest requests.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and/or one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, guest service experience preferred, computer knowledge/skills required, flexible and long hours sometimes required, maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor at all times, effective communication both verbally and written, ability to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests, ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines, attending all hotel required meetings and trainings, maintaining regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, complying with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations, maximizing efforts towards productivity, identifying problem areas and assisting in implementing solutions, ability to handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary, ability to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives, ability to cross-train in other hotel related areas, ability to maintain confidentiality of information, ability to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs, and performing other duties as requested by management.
