MATERIALS MANAGER

Job Title MATERIALS MANAGER Job Summary Responsible for the materials planning and procurement. Coordinates primary material requirements with sales, production, and purchasing departments. Maintains inventory control and determines reorder points. Prepares shipping plans and coordinates receipt of materials. Ensures satisfactory levels of on‑time customer delivery. Creatively seeks out cost savings opportunities and maintains accurate records. Responsibilities Coordinate primary material requirements with sales, production and purchasing departments. Maintain inventory control and determine reorder points. Prepare shipping plans and coordinate receipt of materials. Ensure satisfactory on‑time customer delivery levels. Seek cost savings opportunities. Maintain accurate records. Supervise purchasing, production control and/or shipping and receiving (as required). Maintain manpower levels consistent with the business plan. Address attendance, performance and other personnel issues promptly. Conduct performance appraisals. Recommend training to upgrade skills for department personnel and support succession planning initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Seven (7) years of experience in materials, purchasing or supply chain management.
