Job Summary
Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate individualized educational plans for inmates within a correctional facility. Assess educational and vocational needs, monitor inmate progress, and modify learning plans to support successful educational outcomes. Provide academic instruction, coordinate educational activities, maintain records, prepare reports, and collaborate with instructors, volunteers, educational institutions, community organizations, and government agencies. Ensure educational programs align with correctional education requirements, policies, and rehabilitation goals while supporting inmate development and vocational readiness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Minimum 1.5 years of professional teaching experience involving lesson plan development, classroom instruction, student assessment, and educational planning.
- Knowledge of educational principles, instructional methods, learning processes, and human behavior.
- Ability to assess educational needs, develop individualized learning plans, monitor progress, and maintain accurate records.
- Strong communication, instructional, organizational, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders.
- Must successfully pass required background checks and drug screening.
